DBC mainnet launch and Galaxy Contest AMA
1. About the mainnet launching time, is there any change at present?
There is no change at present, the mainnet launching time is expected to be at the end of May, 2021, the testnet has been running stably for nearly 45 days, the mainnet’s code will be officially online after the security audit. After the mainnet goes online, anyone holding DBC can participate in voting and get DBC rewards, there are 21 supernodes in total, and 8.33 million DBC rewards can be shared every month.
2. When and where is the mainnet token switch expected to take place?
The token switch will be done automatically in huobi/kucoin/gate and other exchanges. Besides that, any act of token switching and token transfer request in the name of DBC official is a fraud, please don’t believe it and verify it carefully.
3. When does the DBC mining contest start? How to participate?
DBC mining starts immediately after 10:00 BST on June 23, 2021, at any moment as long as the number of graphics GPUs of mining machines participating in pledging on the mainnet is greater than or equal to 5,000 GPUs. It will last for 30 days, and all miners will share 100 million DBC rewards together according to the percentage of computing nodes points, and the top 5 miners in terms of computing nodes points can get an additional 30 million DBC rewards(Take these DBCs from the team).
Buy a DeepBrain Chain miner, host the miner in the data center, install the software system of DeepBrain Chain, then you can participate in the competition.
4. What are the detailed rules for calculating computing nodes points?
Only the GPU server meets the minimum requirements can get the reward.
There are two factors that affect the calculation of computing nodes points: The number of GPU Cuda Cores and the size of the video memory; GPU Cuda Cores account for 80% and the video memory accounts for 20%.
2080ti is the reference standard.
2080ti computing nodes points: 4352=4352*80%+4352*11/11*20%
3070 computing nodes points: 5302=5608*80%+5608*8/11*20%
3070Ti 8G memory version computing nodes points: 5734=6144*80%+6144*8/11*20%
3070Ti 16G memory version computing nodes points: 6703=6144*80%+6144*16/11*20%
3080 computing nodes points: 8546=8704*80%+8704*10/11*20%
3080Ti computing nodes points:: 10426=10240*80%+10240*12/11*20%
3090 computing nodes points: 12977=10496*80%+10496*24/11*20%
Machine’s computing power is expressed in computing nodes points, machine computing nodes points is calculated based on cuda core, GPU video memory, whether the machine is rented and other comprehensive factors, the higher the computing nodes points, the more rewards.
5. What are the rules for calculating the reward for the competition?
Several factors affect the miner’s DBC rewards.
1) The number of computing nodes points per GPU
2) The number of GPUs owned
3) The number of GPUs owned by a single wallet. For each additional GPU owned by a single wallet, all machine points increase by 0.01%, until it increases by 10%.
4) Whether the GPU is rented or not, the number of points of the rented GPU increases by 30%
Miners’ daily reward = the proportion of computing nodes points in the whole network computing nodes points * 3.33 million DBC, of which 25% is immediately released, 75% is released throughout 150 days, which is 0.5% per day.
Here is an example:
For example, the total number of points in the whole network is: 80,000,000, A miner added 500 GPUs in the DBC network, each computing nodes points are 10426, A miner uses a single wallet, of which 450 GPUs are in the state of being rented, 50 GPUs are idle, then the DBC rewards that A miner can get in 24 hours are
A miner’s total points: 450*10426*(1+5%)*130%+50*10426*(1+5%)=6,951,536
Total points of the whole network: 86,951,536
A miner’s reward for 24 hours is: 6,951,536/86,951,536*3,333,333=266,490.7995 DBCs
6. Where can I buy DeepBrain Chain mining machine?

7. Where can I buy DeepBrain Chain mining machine?
If you want to participate in mining, you can contact DeepBrain Chain mining machine brands or mining pools, you can buy GPU servers from them, and they can also help the machine in IDC hosting, technical operation and maintenance, etc.
8. Burning and pledging rules
After the start of the Galaxy Race DBC will officially start the burning , each GPU server rental transaction burning ratio is 100%.
In the Galaxy race, each graphics card pledge 100,000 DBC, and need to pledge for at least 365 days; when the machine is online for more than 365 days, and no user use more than 10 days, you can withdraw from the pledge to stop mining, we will release the pledged DBC in 3 days, and the rewards previously obtained continue to be released linearly.
When the number of GPUs pledged across the network exceeds 5,000, the number of DBCs pledged for new GPUs will be automatically adjusted according to the number of DBC volume and the price of DBCs, and the number of pledged DBCs is expected to be between 30,000 and 100,000. In the future, it will be adjusted automatically for every 5,000 GPUs added.
For example, there is 5,000 GPUs in the whole network, there will be 500 million DBCs locked up, at the same time, there will be 5million RMB worth’s DBC rental fee for burning every month, according to the calculation of DBC price 0.1 RMB, there will be 50 million DBCs burnt every month, more than 600 million DBCs burnt every year; in the process of actually completing the pledge and burning , the actual DBC price is floating, the higher the DBC price, the number of DBCs burnt in a single month for a single GPU is actually getting smaller and smaller.
9. What is the penalty mechanism for machine(s) going offline abnormally (bad connection)?
According to whether the machine is in the rented state the penalty is divided into the following cases:
(1) The machine is in the leased state
- Offline for 3 minutes, deduct 3 days of remaining rewards
- 7 minutes offline, 7 days remaining rewards will be deducted
- 48h offline, all remaining rewards will be deducted
- 120h offline, 50% of the deposit will be deducted
2)The machine is idle
- If the machine is in idle state more than 10 days, at this time offline 7 minutes, machine will automatically be regarded as offline, no new online rewards, the old rewards are still linearly released
- If the machine has been idle for less than 10 days, and it is offline for 7 minutes, the machine will be automatically regarded as offline without new online rewards, and the remaining 7 days rewards will be deducted.
If you are punished, you can appeal within 48 hours, and the appeal will be automatically evaluated by the technical committee
Whether the machine is online or not is automatically reported to the chain through the reporter, and then the supernode will automatically query the machine status.
Any independent individual can be a reporter.
10. What is the configuration of the mining machine? How to purchase? How are hosting issues resolved?
Minimum requirements for GPU server parameters:
1) GPU hardware: 4 GPUs or 2 GPUs, 2080ti/3070/3080/3080ti/3090 (must be Nvidia graphics card, GPU video memory minimum requirement of 8G)
2) Memory: 800g (4 GPUs) or 400g (2 GPUs)
3) CPU: SMP CPU (2.5Ghz and above)
4) hard disk: system disk 600g (SSD), data disk 2T (can be mechanical hard disk)
5) network bandwidth: upstream and downstream 20M or more (4 GPUs) or 10M or more (2 GPUs)
6) have independent fixed IP
7) The machine is placed in the standard data center T3 level or higher to maintain the stability of the network and electricity
you can buy gpu servers on Amazon or from Super micro
11. Does DBC have its own mining pools and mining machine manufacturers now?
At present, there are already a number of mining pools and mining machine manufacturers involved in DeepBrain Chain, and the DeepBrain Chain ecosystem will grow more and more as time goes by.
12. After the migration to Polka, can the mainnet technically support the access of 100,000+ miners and user upload, download and computing data in the future?
No problem, we designed it from the beginning to support a distributed GPU computing network of 1 million GPUs or more.
13. After 100% of the rental income is burnt, the only way for miners to earn income is mining after the mainnet is online, will this make DBC mining less attractive for miners?
No, other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum are also only mining revenue. The key depends on the return cycle and the input-output ratio.
DeepBrain Chain is different in that DeepBrain Chain’s GPU machines can be rented out, and these rents are 100% destroyed, which will lead to the formation of deflation in DBC, thus increasing the value of DBC, which is beneficial to all coin holders. And the higher the number of machines the greater the value of DBC. This is the opposite of bitcoin mining, where the higher the number of bitcoin miners, the revenue per miner is decreasing. But the more DBC miners there are, the more machines the actual DBC network can rent out, thus generating more social value and destroying more DBC, thus higher value. Similarly, if there are only 100 servers in Ali cloud, the value of Ali cloud is very low, if there are 1 million servers in Ali cloud, the value is great.
14. What is the Galaxy Race about?
In order to give back to the early GPU computing contributors of DeepBrain Chain, Galaxy cRace is held, totaling 100 million DBC reward!
Any miner can participate, there are no restrictions.
After 10:00 BST on June 23, 2021, the contest will start immediately as long as the number of GPU mining machines involved in pledging on the mainnet is greater than or equal to 5,000!
The contest lasts for 1 month.
The top 5 mining pools, the DBC team takes out an extra 30,000,000DBC reward! Distributed according to the percentage of computing power!
15. According to the pledging rules, after 365 days of being online and no user use the machine, the pledged coins can be released after 10 days, but if there are still customers using them, what are the rules of pledge release and what is the exact definition of “user using the machine”?
Each machine is either rented or not, there are records of on-chain renting and DBC rent payment, when the time of on-chain renting is not expired, it is considered to be in use.
16. Suppose a card pledges 100,000 DBCs and the user has used it after one year, the total amount of DBCs cannot be lower than the total amount of coins pledged in the mining pool regardless of how the rent is burnt, is that so?
The burning of DBC is a long-term, continuous act, and the total value of DBCs destroyed by a single GPU is definitely more than the total value of DBCs pledged by a single GPU, given a complete GPU usage cycle (3–5 years).
17. Is it possible to set a reference computing value/output value for each GPU? So that we can choose what GPU to buy.
Computing nodes points calculation rules: Only GPU servers that meet the minimum requirements can be rewarded
A single GPU computing nodes points is calculated based on two indicators: the number of GPU Cuda Core and video memory size, the number of GPU Cuda Core accounts for 80%, the video memory accounts for 20%.
Nvidia’s 2080ti model graphics card is the reference standard, the following is the formula for calculating the number of computing nodes points for various models of graphics GPUs.
2080ti computing nodes points: 4352=4352*80%+4352*11/11*20%
3070 computing nodes points: 5302=5608*80%+5608*8/11*20%
3070Ti 8G memory version computing nodes points: 5734=6144*80%+6144*8/11*20%
3070Ti 16G memory version computing nodes points: 6703=6144*80%+6144*16/11*20%
3080 computing nodes points: 8546=8704*80%+8704*10/11*20%
3080Ti computing nodes points: 10426=10240*80%+10240*12/11*20%
3090 computing nodes points: 12977=10496*80%+10496*24/11*20%.
At present, it is recommended to use 3080ti graphics card, you can quickly rent and get higher returns
18. As a miner, graphics card single GPU rental revenue is divided into DBC and RMB revenue, what is the proportion of each
Currently, online rewards (DBC earnings), rental income is burnt 100%. Whether to reduce the proportion of rental income burning in the future will be decided by the DBC community vote.
19. The miner’s GPU servers are up to the team to decide on deployment for rental, does the same model and configuration of the GPU gets the same revenue? For example different machines are put together on the platform for public rental to corporate users, do the machines get the same revenue?
The same model and configuration of the GPU server gets the same online rewards revenue, the rent is also the same. But the rent is 100% destroyed, the platform will automatically give different models of GPU server pricing, same GPU model gets the same pricing. If the machine is in a rented state, the computing nodes points will increase by 30%.
20. A single GPU needs to pledge 100,000 DBC, is this 100,000 DBC pledged as a nominator or other pledge methods?
According to the rules, if you want to participate in mining and provide computing resources for the network, in order to ensure the stability and continuity of the service, a single GPU needs to pledge 100,000 DBC. This pledged DBC is the pledge needed to participate in DBC mining, and has nothing to do with the nominator. The nominator is part of the supernode matter, and anyone can vote for the supernode no matter how many DBC they hold.
21. If miners give their GPU(s) to DBC to unified the deployment, in the situation of an idle GPU how do you count the revenue?
It’s not a unified deployment, but just a unified pricing of DBC network system, the DeepBrain Chain foundation is not responsible for expanding customers, but many GPU cloud platforms deployed on top of the DeepBrain Chain they will expand customers; for a specific GPU server, when the machine is rented, the revenue will be 30% higher than the idle state. So in order to keep the machine as high rental rate as possible, you can refer to the parameters of the machine with high rental rate in the network to configure your mining machine.
22. if in the future the online GPU supply is greater than demand, if a monthly, annual billing method is adopted, is it possible to determine whether customers use the machine? But if the user rent by time, it is difficult to determine whether the machine is rented. Suppose from the historical data to see the user’s monthly rental frequency is very low, such as 1 time, 1 hour last month, in this situation how to determine whether the GPU can be stopped and ask for the pledged coins to be released?
Each machine is either rented or not, there will be on-chain rental records and payment of DBC rental records, when on the chain the rental time is not due, then the machines are considered to be in a ‘’used’’ state.
If the user is renting by the time, it is also easy to determine whether it is being rented or not, which requires checking the data on the chain.
When the machine is online for more than 365 days and no user uses it for more than 10 consecutive days, you can quit pledging to stop mining and release the pledged DBCs within 3 days, and the previously obtained rewards continue to be released linearly.
23. Will you update the total number of online machines/GPUs and the number of coins destroyed daily in real time on the website in the future?
When the mainnet is online and the burning is officially started, you can check the real-time online machines, GPU numbers, total computing nodes points and the number of DBCs destroyed on the chain, which are all open and transparent. There will also be a query tool to visualize this.
24. How to participate in the governance of DeepBrain Chain?
Anyone who holds a DBC can submit a motion, and the motion can be anything, and whether the motion is executed or not is done automatically through community voting.
For example, if DBC holder A, a technical developer, thinks that function X is very important to DeepBrain Chain, and he/she has the development ability to do this function development, he/she can initiate a motion to describe in detail the importance of the function demand to DeepBrain Chain, and then initiate a vote in the community to obtain development funds, and eventually any community member holding DBC can vote whether to allocate funds for this motion.
If you are doing DBC promotion, you can also submit a motion and the community will vote on it.
Another example is to propose improvements to the DBC development mechanism or major product feature deployment, which are also done by community voting.
The goal of DeepBrain Chain Foundation is to strive for complete decentralization of DBC governance on the first anniversary of the mainnet launch. The future participation in DBC on-chain governance is a very good way for personal entrepreneurship.
